IELTSのサンプル解答です。筆者はIELTSライティングで7.0以上の取得を目指して勉強しています。特にTask 2では、与えられた質問に適切に答えることが求められますが、そのためには思考を整理することが必要だと考えています。この記事では、自分がどのように筋道を立ててエッセイを作っているかを文章にしています。
Topic Question
Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

ブレインストーミング
いつものように、まずTopicは何かを明確にしましょう。この問題のトピックは、「情報の共有について」です。Discussionのエッセイですので、2つの論点が提示されています。
- 研究やビジネス、学問分野などにおいて、可能な限り情報を共有する方が良い
- 重要で有用な情報を、（何の規制もかけず）無料で開放するのは良くない
Discussionタイプのエッセイでは、この①と②の論点の両方について論じると共に、質問に”give your own opinion（あたなの意見を述べなさい）”とあるので、自分の意見を述べる必要があります。
まず、2つの論点についてそれぞれどんなポイントがあるのかを挙げてみたいと思います。
- 情報はより効率的な社会を作ることに役立つ
- 実際、ビジネスにおいて有益なデータの使い方が見受けられる
- （例）アマゾンの配達について、カスタマーデータを集めることにより、カスタマーの好みに沿った商品をレコメンドしてくれたり、商品の迅速な配送を可能にしている
- 結果として、カスタマーの満足につながっている
- 情報を無料で開放することにはリスクが伴う
- 実際、個人情報を悪用した犯罪が起こっている
- （例）日本では、お年寄りを狙った詐欺事件が発生しており、その際に個人情報を入手していることが見受けられる
- 情報の乱用がこのような事件の一因になっていると考えられるため、ある程度の規制は必要
最後に自分の意見についてですが、②の最後に太字で書いてある「ある程度の規制は必要」が筆者の意見です。自分の意見をどこに組み込むのかというのが一つ悩む所ですが、このエッセイではIntroductionとConclusionにこの意見を組み込むことにします。（意見を述べるためのパラグラフを作ることもできますが、時間や文字数、エッセイの展開を考えてこのエッセイではしません。）

（Introduction）
Despite the claim about information explosion in this era of internet technology, some still argue that it is better to share more information. However, others say some information should be protected. I believe there should be some restrictions on personal information, for example, being shared online.

Information plays an essential role in making our lives more efficient. In fact, a number of business and research institutes collect personal information and apply it for the development of their business and research. Now, Amazon, an e-commerce platform, has its popularity worldwide, and primarily it is known for its fast delivery service. I personally use Amazon frequently and have heard that it collects customers’ search and buying data for its efficient services. Indeed, thanks to utilizing customers’ information in the right way, Amazon successfully recommends products that I become interested in. Once I click on buying buttons, the delivery is so fast that the service fills my satisfaction.

However, sharing information for free encompasses risks, too. Indeed, we often hear about crimes regarding the abuse of personal information. For example, in Japan, many senior citizens are targeted for fraud. Criminals somehow collect information about the family members, telephone numbers, and email addresses of targeted senior citizens. Then, these thieves would make a call as if they knew about them for a long time and try to rob them of their money. Such information theft has resulted in the perpetration of crimes such as fraudulence.

Although the right use of information fuels innovation, data available publicly entices criminals into committing crimes such as fraud. Thus, I believe that people need to be careful of making their personal details available for anyone to see.
