IELTSライティングのサンプル解答です。筆者はIELTSライティングで7.0以上の取得を目指して勉強しています。特にTask 2では、与えられた質問に適切に答えることが求められますが、そのためには思考を整理することが必要だと考えています。この記事では、自分がどのように筋道を立ててエッセイを作っているかを文字にしています。
Topic Question
Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion

筆者の解答例
There are two types of people in the world: those who accept a situation even if it is a bad condition, and those who try to change a situation by putting in an effort. I believe that every person has their ambition, more or less, but so many are giving up before they achieve something significant.
Some people believe that they do not have any alternatives, so it is best to accept a bad situation. In the case of the Philippines, there are so many individual miners who dig in the hole and get into the underground to get gold. This job, however, is extremely dangerous, so many die due to the lack of oxygen and unexpected accidents. For such miners, they believe that they have no other choice but to work for the mining. That may be because they cannot find better jobs due to their low education level, or they needed money badly for emergency reasons. Those people may think it is best to accept their situation even if it is unpleasant.
On the one hand, some believe there are some possibilities for a breakthrough if people try to improve a bad situation. Still, many are living under the poverty line which cannot be improved overnight. But, if we look at education, for example, children can at least study and put effort into achieving their goals as long as there are a pen and piece of paper. With fewer chances, though, there may be some international foundation giving scholarships to people in hardship but are trying to study hard. Therefore, even if people are in a bad situation, there may be some chances to improve it if people continue to work hard.
In my view, we should try and improve a bad situation. If we try something, there should be some learnings from it whether or not people succeed. For instance, there are people who work for an unpleasant job because there are no alternatives, but suppose people work hard and succeed in their current jobs, there may be some opportunities opened for them when the right time comes. Hence, people should still have hope that they can change something if they try hard.
In conclusion, the reason why people accept a bad situation is that there are no alternatives. In contrast, certain breakthroughs are the motivation for those who try and improve the situation. I believe that we should try to improve a dire situation because there will be some learning outcomes from it even if we cannot succeed overnight.

Topic Questionに、「Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.」とあるので、①「満足感のない仕事やお金がないことなどの悪い状況を受け入れることがベスト」という考え方と、②「そうした悪い状況を改善しようとトライする方が良い」という考え方の2つを文中で論じた上で、③自分の意見を述べる必要があります。
Body 1では、①「悪い状況を受け入れる」ことについて論じています。
Main idea: 代替策がないため、悪い状況を受け入れることが（現状の）ベスト
Supporting sentence: 例として、フィリピンの鉱山労働者の状況を書いています。彼らは、お金が必要なので非常に劣悪な環境下で働かざるを得ない。主に、教育を受けていない人たちが多く、他に良い仕事（代替策）がないので、鉱山の仕事（きつい仕事）でお金を稼ぐことが現状のベストという論点です。
Body 2では、 ②「悪い状況を改善する」ことについて論じています。
Main idea: 状況を改善しようと取り組めば、成功（ブレイクスルー）できる可能性がある。
Supporting sentence: ブレイクスルーの例として教育を挙げています。貧困地域で学ぶ生徒たちは、限られたリソース（紙やペン）があれば勉強を継続することが可能です。こうして努力を続けて入れば、例えお金がなくても国際支援団体などが奨学金を出して高等教育の機会を子どもに与えてくれるかもしれません。ですから、現状を変えようと努力することでチャンスをつかめる可能性があるのではないか、と論じています。
Body 3では、自分の意見として、「悪い状況を変えようと努力するべきだ」と論じています。
状況を変えようと努力することで、学びにつながるし、チャンスは来るはずだと述べています。
Conlusionでは、Bodyで述べたことのまとめと、最後に自分の意見を持ってきて締めとしています。
総論としては、今回のエッセイは423文字とかなり長くなってしまい、省ける箇所が多くあるかもしれません。特に、Body 3の自分の意見はConclusionに含めても良かったかなと思っています。Task 2のエッセイは250文字以上でOKなので、コンパクトでも明確なエッセイを書けるようになりたいです。
